Promising

It's really difficult to contain my excitement after our recent mauling of QPR. I suppose you could argue that Redknapp's side made us look that good, but I would disagree. We imposed our game on the opposition and were well deserving of our big win. It's truly promising.

There's an incredible amount of positives to be taken from that performance. I'm gonna pick out a few. If you weren't creaming yourselves over that win already, hopefully the following will perk your interests.

Eric Dier

Two goals in two games for the new man and you'd be forgiven for thinking he'd been playing in the Premier League for a decade. His composure is one of his best assets; calmness personified in possession even when under pressure. Take a look at his goal from last weekend and you'll know what I'm talking about. He's no slouch either despite his giant frame, pushing up at right back at will with or without the ball. While he'll get the plaudits for his successive goals (and rightly so) we should praise his defensive ability a lot more. At 20 years old and only £4mil from Sporting Lisbon this could well be one of our deals of the summer. The scout that found this boy deserves a raise.

Arms out wide... he celebrates in style, this boy.

Danny Rose

Brace yourselves. I'm about to do the impossible... praise Danny Rose. He looks twice the player he was under AVB or Sherwood. Athleticism was never a problem for him but his inability to concentrate in defence was becoming an issue. The Pochettino Effect (or TPE as it will thus be known) seems to have transformed the Englishman as he now looks to hold down the starting position. While I think Ben Davies will be the long-term answer to this position, I'm happy to see Rose fight for his place with some great performances so far.

White, blue or yellow, Danny has a colour for all seasons.

Mauricio Pochettino

In 90 minutes at White Hart Lane I was more excited than the last two years of home football. Wow. Pochettino's philosophy appears spot on. Yes I know it's early days but you can't help but enjoy these types of performances. As Tottenham fans, we don't just want to win. We want to be entertained. TPE has brought with it an incisive brand of football that focuses on moving the ball quickly and effectively. We were arguably as exciting to watch today as we were under Redknapp with stars such as Bale, Van der Vaart and Modric. Don't believe me? 48 passes led to our third goal. That's double the previous highest of last season. If we continue to play like this we'll be in for a great season. My favourite new implementation of Pochettino's is the splitting of the centre halves and allowing a defensive midfielder to drop in and pick up possession. It's an excellent way of maintaining control of the ball and starting an attack and allows for a smooth transition from defence to attack. The players really look to have bought into this new system and are playing for the manager. So far, so good.

"The Pochettino Effect? No. It's more than an effect. It's a way of life."

Erik Lamela

Save the best for last, ey? Lamela was absolutely superb today. At £30mil you'd expect something special and we may well just have it in this Argentine. An excellent corner put us two up today but his second assist showed his true ability. Letting it run across his body to beat the first man, Lamela skipped past further challenges with ease before putting his head up to find a brilliant cross for 3-0. But this is just the beginning. Last season was an injury-wrought fiasco to say the least, so this is effectively his first proper year in the Prem. He's going to light up this season, believe me. His natural ability is there for all to see, combining excellent dribbling with a change of pace and an eye for a pass. Soon he'll add goals to his game too and we'll be laughing. That is until he catches Perez's greedy little eye at Real Madrid. YOU HEAR THAT, PEREZ? NO DEAL, YOU ARE EL CUNTIO.

He's Dunne him! HAHAHAHAHA

There were loads more points I could have chosen to analyse. Vertonghen looked solid on his return, Chadli was extremely clinical and Capoue looks right at home in defensive midfield. But I'll leave you with this... maximum points, two clean sheets and smiles all round. Roll on the Scousers next weekend! COYS!
